Coach Bill believes that building a strong foundation for young athletes is necessary in order for the young athlete to compete at the highest level. In developing an athlete in any sport there are 5 biomotor abilities that must be developed regrardless of sport, (1) Flexibility, (2) Coordination, (3) Conditioning, (4) Strengh, and (5) Speed. These biomotor abilities must be trained in order for the athlete to maximize their performance. In his opinion, lack of coordination is one of the single greatest limiting factors to the sucess of young athletes, even the "best" ones. That's why he also believes that the initial phase of training for any athlete should focus on Base Movement Training ( static and dynamic balance, coordination and force reduction/deceleration). Most athletes, coaches, and trainers overlook this phase of training as they fail to develop the fundamental abilities of body control in their athletes. It is this phase of training that prepares the athlete for optimize performance & injury prevention.
Today's coaches not only want skilled players, they want FASTER, STRONGER, MORE EXPLOSIVE athletic athletes. Game Time Speed programs will develop a higher level of athletic ability in each athlete that will carry over to an improvement in any sport.
